Iain Dale Co-Chairs "Bright Future" debate at Scottish LibDem Conference1.17.09pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 16th Oct 2006
Iain Dale, Convenor of Cunninghame Liberal Democrats and Vice Convenor of the Scottish Liberal Democrat Conference Committee, Co-Chaired one of the most important debates at the Scottish Liberal Democrat Autumn Conference, which was held at the BLCC in Dunfermline on Saturday the 14th of October. The "Bright Future" motion was passed unanimously by representatives assemble from all over Scotland. Major themes in the "Bright Future" pre-manifesto document include:Green Switch to renewable energy, no to new nuclear power, young opportunity, creating a dynamic Scotland, choosing health and wellbeing and trusting in people by giving communities power. Iain said: "It was an honour to be given the opportunity to Co-Chair such a vitally important debate. The quality of speakers was very high and the actual "Bright Future" document is full of inspirational ideas which will enhance and improve the lives of all living in Scotland." He added: "I actively look forward to campaigning on the themes contained within the "Bright Future" document and am sure that it will be a key plank in what is expected to be a marvellous result for the Scottish Liberal Democrats in the Council and Scottish Parliament elections next May."
