Jenny Hutton

About Jenny

Jenny lives at Auchengree (between Beith and Kilbirnie) with husband Lewis (a tall, red-haired, strange Scottish bloke - his own description), their two young sons, five geese and two horses. She moved to North Ayrshire in 2005 and has now been joined by her parents, who following their recent retirement, have relocated from Edinburgh to Kilbirnie. Jenny has a longstanding interest in politics, current affairs and travel. She is a recent recruit to the Liberal Democrats, joining the party in 2005.

Born in Edinburgh in 1971, Jenny studied at Edinburgh, Stirling, Aberdeen and Hull Universities, training as a Health Psychologist within the NHS. Her research and clinical interests include the psychological impact of physical illness, and the application of psychological theory, research and practice to the promotion and maintenance of health. Currently Jenny works at the Beatson Oncology Centre in Glasgow, with patients diagnosed with, or undergoing treatment for, cancer, and their families.

Outside work, Jenny enjoys having fun with her family, beer, chocolate, riding and being outdoors. She plays the violin and saxophone, and is learning to play the piano.
